At 871 Islington we all share the same dumpsters and recycle bins, so it is crucial that we are considerate to each other and use the containers responsibly. 
  • Trash and recycling bins are behind the wooden enclosure. Be sure to relatch the door when you're finished.
  • Recycleable materials go in the blue containers, which are taken to the street Sunday night for pickup on Monday morning.
    • RECYCLING MATERIALS ACCEPTED
      • Aluminum food and beverage containers
      • Glass food and beverages containers
      • Plastic containers with symbols #1 - #7
      • All types of paper
  • Trash goes in the dumpster, which is emptied on Monday and Thursday or Friday.
  • Larger loads should be taken to the Portsmouth transfer station.
Remember:
  1. Do not overfill dumpster or recycle bins
  2. Make sure that the lids close securely
  3. Do not leave trash or recyclables outside containers
  4. Break down cardboard boxes 
  5. Do not leave recyclables in plastic bags. They will reject our load if we don’t observe this rule!
